* If you join us on or after 1st November your membership fee will last until the end of the following membership year i.e up to 16 months.

Gift Aid
When you join Chelmsford u3a you have the option to boost your subscription by 25p for every £1 paid, at no cost to yourself. As a registered charity we are eligible to claim Gift Aid on membership subscriptions and donations. Gift Aid is claimed by u3a from the tax you pay. This provides us with a very important source of income.
Joining and Paying Online - our preferred method
- Click the Join Online button and complete the Online Membership Application Form and click on the Make Payment button
- We use PayPal to process membership fee payments but you do not need to have a PayPal account, as all major debit and credit cards are accepted. Just select Pay by Card when you reach the PayPal screen and then fill in the required details.
- When you have completed the process, you will receive an email from PayPal confirming your membership fee payment.
By joining online you agree to Chelmsford u3a processing your information to keep you informed about events, groups and activities as part of your membership which includes:
- Sending you our monthly newsletters by email
- If you have joined as a Full member, your details to be added to the direct mailing list to receive the Third Age Trust publication Third Age Matters.
- If you do not wish your data to be used in either of these ways please email theMembership Secretary quoting the membership number you receive when you join online and clear instructions.
Joining by completing an online form and paying by bank transfer or cheque
- Click the Membership Application form button and complete the form
- After submitting the form, please pay your membership fee by either:
- Our preferred method of payment of bank transfer, although we do also accept payment by cheque, and we also accept bank card contactless payments at our monthly meetings
- If you are paying by bank transfer, our details are:

Once you have joined Chelmsford u3a you will be able to use our Beacon Members Portal to see the personal information we hold for you; if the information is not correct and needs changing it can be altered online through the option in the portal to 'update your personal details' (including updating your address, telephone and mobile phone numbers). Membership Cards
The card issued to you when you join is for life. Please bring your card whenever you attend Meetings. Should you lose your card we will charge you £3 to replace it.
