Art Appreciation

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
Brenda Kelly
Group email: Art Appreciation group
When: Monthly on Tuesday afternoons
Fourth Tuesday
Venue: Various by arrangement

We are a small friendly group who get together on the 4th Tuesday in the month - usually in the afternoon - because of our love of art. We like to visit galleries either locally in Essex like the Sir Alfred Munnings Museum in Dedham or in London like Tate Britain and Modern, the Courtauld Gallery or the National Gallery. On another occasion we had a tour of the art which is to be found in Harlow. When visiting in London we travel independently on the first Cheap Day train to Liverpool Street and liaise by the barrier of Platform 11. From there we go on by bus together to our destination using our Bus Passes (sometimes we use the Tube). When visiting locally we travel by car. If anyone needs a lift, we aim to find one.

We have talks by various speakers on different subjects - usually at Christ Church in New London Road.

We also meet a couple of times a year in a member's home to discuss our future programme or to talk about 'Our Favourite Painting' and its artist to everyone or speak about various paintings that we really like.

Everyone is welcome.
