Walks take place on the second Monday in the month and we walk either fairly locally or in London, everyone takes a turn in leading a walk, these do not have to be walked out in advance and the only rule is that nobody complains if we get lost.
Walks average from 5 - 8 miles and we take a picnic lunch. If we see places of interest on the way and the group is in general agreement, we stop and take a look. We don't usually walk in December as it's such a busy month and we do a half day walk in January finishing with a pub lunch.
Members contact details are circulated within the group so you need to confirm that you are happy with this though,as the group leader, I'm probably the only one who keeps all members mobile no's on their phone. (Your contact details are landline, email as above and mobile no.)
Unfortunately, we would love to welcome you to the All Day Walks group but we’re currently at the maximum number that can be managed on our walks. Please look at the other walking groups in our u3a (Walking Group, Short Walks and Summer Evening Walks) who may be able to welcome you.
Alternatively Groups Coordinator to join a list for a new group, or would you like to start up another walking group? The Groups Coordinator and members of the committee would be happy to assist you to do this.
